Kahunya grew up on a mission station in Kenya where his father is a Bishop. Ana Claudia was a famous sportscaster on Brazilian television. Arslan was born into a religious "noble family" in Pakistan. All three have lived with a dangerous secret which could have destroyed lives: they are homosexual. This documentary is about the flight of 3 refugees who claimed asylum in the US to escape persecution based on their sexual orientation. Told entirely through their own words, the film describes the vulnerability under which lesbians and gays live in most parts of the world, and their search not only for a safe haven, but a dignified existence - as homosexuals.
